Tis the season…to watch a lot of sports and to be targeted by companies that are advertising to men. Most men shave. Even my 13 year-old twin sons, who should shave a little more than they do, but then again if you can grow a sweet mustache in 8th grade, why not go for it?
In my sports watching, most recently the Big 10 Championship game between my home state Iowa Hawkeyes and the Michigan State Spartans, I started noticing these new Gillette Fusion ProGlide commercials. The video showcases Sean and Rama, who I presume are actors portrayed as good friends, talking about Gillette’s new razor. I knew about the pivoting razor head, but I actually didn’t have any idea that it had a “fine trimmer” until one of the guys in the commercial mentions it.
Yesterday morning, I missed an obvious spot under my nose and whenever I miss a spot shaving, it drives me crazy. Somehow I managed to leave enough stubble to form a weird “V” directly under my nose. All I could think about was that I have a vampire mini-mustache under my nose.
Last night, this commercial comes on during the Iowa State Cyclones (Woohoo!) and the Buffalo Bulls basketball game. It’s then I realized I could use the “fine trimmer” on that Gillette Fusion ProGlide razor and that’s exactly what I did this morning.
PS: If you haven’t seen the commercial, it’s listed below for your viewing pleasure. Also, I think I would be a good candidate for a Gillette commercial since I shave both my head and my face. I’m just saying.
